About the Event
Jessee Lee is a 4th generation musician hailing from Nashville, Tennessee. Jessee’s father, David Lee, was a Grammy nominated singer-songwriter and there is no doubt she absorbed all of the creativity she was raised around.
Jessee moved from Nashville, Tennessee to Spring Branch, Texas in 2015. After graduating high school and pursuing a nursing career in College Station, Texas for a couple of years, she decided to ditch the 401K and pursue her dream as an independent musician.
In 2018, Jessee started playing acoustic shows and paying her dues in the Texas honky Tonks. She was quickly noticed as one of the most talented up-and-comers in the Texas scene and has graced the historic stages of Luckenbach Dancehall, Gruene Hall, John T. Floore’s Country Store, Dosey Doe—Big Barn, and many more. Along with playing her own acoustic and full band shows, she has had the opportunity to play with and/or open for several Texas and Nashville touring acts.
Jessee Lee is known for her picturesque songwriting ability, unique vocals, and quirky bass line-like guitar playing. Her sound is a melting pot of your favorite sounds ranging from the soul of Amy Winehouse to the sweetness of Dolly Parton. She fuses her Tennessee country twang, Billie Holiday vibrato, and Janis Joplin like rasp to create a sound unlike any other musician. You will hear Country, Blues, Americana, Rock, and Pop music seamlessly merged together in a live performance you can only sum up as “Jessee Lee”.
Jessee released her first song and music video titled “Dive Bar Superstar” in November of 2022 and was given “Texas Song of the Week” on the TIR chart. She is set to release her first 7-song EP in the summer of 2023. With no plan on slowing down, she is sure to be a name you will be hearing for years to come. Come see a show near you to see why Jessee Lee is known as one of the best female singer-songwriters in the scene.
